Purpose
To support the Helen Diller Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies, which works to increase engagement of, and support for, Jewish students and faculty on the UC Berkeley campus by expanding course offerings, academic programs, and research in Jewish law and thought, Jewish identity, and Israel studies. Initial funding supported programmatic activities on campus and provided capacity support to transition the Institute from a start-up initiative to a permanent institution on the Berkeley campus.
