Purpose

To support the recruitment, preparation, placement, and induction of DeLeT (Day School Leadership through Teaching) cohorts of 10-12 fellows. DeLeT is an academic and clinical program designed to prepare Fellows to become teacher-leaders who are ready to teach general and/or Jewish studies in Jewish day schools, to infuse Jewish values into their classrooms, and to integrate general and Jewish studies. HUC DeLeT, which is conducted in both Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, offers a State of California teaching credential and provides induction support and professional development for DeLeT mentors. The 2014 grants also supports 4 fellows in a new Hebrew language teacher preparation track annually.
